Dadasaheb Phalke Award is one
of the highest honours which is presented an annual award given by
the Indian government for lifetime contribution to Indian cinema
was introduced to the National Awardin 1969, the birth centenary
year of the Father of Indian Cinema, Dadasaheb Phalke. It was
to commemorate his contribution to the development of Indian cinema
and this is annually given for distinguished contribution to the medium,
its growth and promotion. |
